China Unicom Global will offer ngena’s Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) services to its global customer base

Frankfurt am Main / Hong Kong, September 10, 2018 – China Unicom Global (www.chinaunicomglobal.com) announced today to join ngena – the Next Generation Enterprise Network Alliance. By becoming a member of the global telecommunications alliance, China Unicom Global will be offering ngena’s fully managed SD-WAN services to its enterprise customers. In addition, all ngena alliance members will benefit from selected high-quality Ethernet and Internet based wholesale access services in China.
ngena provides enterprises with consistent data connectivity services, integrating all the alliance partners’ networks into a single global Software-Defined Network (SDN). Using state-of-the-art cloud and virtualization technologies from ngena’s strategic technology partner Cisco-Viptela, the alliance offers end-to-end managed Software-Defined Wide Area Networks. The combination of this technology with the alliance’s operating model and ecosystem gives customers of the alliance members access to secure, stable, scalable and easy-to-use global corporate networks, and provides high-quality local customer care.
Since ngena’s four founding members – CenturyLink, Deutsche Telekom, Reliance Jio and SK Telecom – made their official inaugural announcement at the Mobile World Congress in February 2016, the global alliance has now grown to include over 20 renowned international partners.

Since August 2017, Jörg is the Head of Marketing at Frankfurt-based telecommunications start-up ngena, the ‘Next Generation Enterprise Network Alliance’, where he is responsible for building a global brand for the international telco alliance. Before joining ngena, he worked as Head of Communications Central Europe at British Cloud software vendor Sage Group plc for more than 10 years. From 2004 to 2007 he acted as Director Internal & External Communications at British telco operator COLT Telecom. Jörg, who holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy and Comparative Literature, started his career as a journalist for the German IT-business magazine iCONOMY.
