Cisco Connect Brazil 2019

ngena participated in Cisco Connect Brazil 2019!

Cisco Connect is a unique IT event focused on the technology topics and challenges that are changing the way businesses communicate and collaborate. Last week, ngena attended Cisco Connect in Sao Paulo, Brazil from October 2-3, 2019. The event delivered technology specific sessions about the latest and greatest products and solutions Cisco is introducing to assist customers with their jobs and drive business outcomes, as well as insights from Cisco’s leadership around the strategic direction and partnerships.

Cleber Viana, VP Americas and Daniel Estrada, Partner Success Executive – Global from ngena, attended the event. The first day was geared toward partners, the second towards customers. Several thousand people listened to keynote speakers from Cisco US Corporate, including Jim Grubb, Christopher Leach, John Moses and Danilo Pozo, as well as Latam executives such as Jordi Botifoll, Laercio Albuquerque and Marcelo Ehalt.

One interesting take was that during the vertical or technology specific sessions, there were always 4 at the same time on the same stage. However, the presenters only transmitted their voice over wireless and people sat in front of the area they were interested in, watching the presentation o the corresponding monitor and listening on wireless headphones. They called it silent speeches. If you’re walking around it’s a bit surreal as there is very low ambiance sound and yet you see around 6 people or so on stage, all talking at the same time. The setup was circular as you can see in the pics.

Cleber and Daniel were able to meet with many Cisco people at the Latam level as well as corporate. They also made new contacts with local and regional partners that are interested in ngena’s SD-WAN as a service. The second day they met with some customers and were pleasantly surprised to find out that Cisco’s largest Viptela deal, world wide, last year was in Brazil, major international bank.

One pretty cool thing was the cappuccino facsimile. As you can see, Cleber’s face is the cream on the coffee.
