Dr. Marcus Hacke and ngena wins the Network Transformation Award 2018

Yesterday evening the winners for the Network Transformation Awards 2018 were announced at the SDN NFV World Congress in The Hague, Netherlands. And guess what (***drum-roll***) Dr. Marcus Hacke (along with the entire ngena team) have been awarded in the category “Individual Achievements” for his contribution to the ongoing global network transformation process and his achievements in the SDN world.

The awards were judged independently by a panel of leading analysts invited from SDN NFV Congress Analyst Partners. Amongst them were renowned companies like Appledore Research, Strategy Analytics, IHS Markit, 451 Research, ACG Research, and Analysys Mason All submissions “were assessed against published criteria and graded using a weighted points system to ensure consistency, depth of analysis and rigour. A random matrix process was used to ensure a credible, fair and unbiased assessment of all submissions”, as explained by the organizers on their website.

Marcus stated: “I feel very honored to receive the only individual award at the World Congress and I never expected that the jury would reward my personal achievements and the success we have made together at ngena with the Network Transformation Award 2018. Especially, as we have been up against very renowned representatives of other large companies, I am very proud to receive this distinction.” The award, Marcus continued, “is a great testament to the results we have accomplished so far with our international alliance of 20+ leading telecommunications and technology partners and it shows that the idea of revolutionizing the wholesale telco business with a shared economy model and a central platform approach based on latest SDN and NFV technology is seen as unparalleled in the industry.”

The organisers of the event stated on their award website: “Dr. Marcus Hacke’s dynamic vision solved the challenges enterprises experience in todays digital age by forming ngena ‘the Next Generation Enterprise Network Alliance’. The brilliant leader made the journey of the company swifter and easier by taking conceptual measures like a) the formation of a strong global alliance of 20+ leading telecommunication providers by means of a sharing economy model, b) connecting their regional networks to one SD-WAN and c) using an end-to-end automated service orchestration to provide hybrid VPNs for enterprises via d) a central portal supporting all business and operational processes.”
