End of 2014

The idea to create the company was conceived by ngena founder and today’s Managing Director, Dr. Marcus Hacke.

January 2015

The idea was shared for the first time amongst various telco experts during a dinner meeting on January 18, 2015.

February 2015

First joint project group of employees from Deutsche Telekom and Cisco started working on the more detailed business concept and high-level technical platform design.

June 2015

Initial work group was set up to initiate preparations for forming the global alliance, and to develop a business plan and the technical platform design.

February 2016

ngena GmbH entity was formed.

February 2016

Official external announcement at Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona with Deutsche Telekom, CenturyLink, Reliance Jio and SK Telekom as founding members, as well as Cisco as leading technology partner.

June 2016

Comarch is chosen as technology partner to build ngena’s central management platform, i.e. the Business Support System (BSS) and Operating Support System (OSS).

August 2016

1st Partner Summit in Frankfurt with approx. 40 participants.

September 2016

ngena office is inaugurated at Hahnstr. 40 in Frankfurt am Main.

November 2016

PCCW Global announced to join ngena.

December 2016

50th colleague joins ngena.

December 2016

Neutrona Networks announced to join ngena.

February 2017

Altice officially joins ngena

July 2017

We are live! ngena launches its SD-WAN-as-a-Service solution with a first set of standardized Access Designs and VPN functionalities.

July 2017

Telus officially joins the ngena alliance.

July 2017

First four global Hubs are live in Frankfurt, Ashburn, Hong Kong and Seoul connecting Europe, Asia and North America with a global backbone.

August 2017

100th colleague joins ngena.

Expereo signs alliance partnership contract with ngena.

New office space is created at ngena’s Frankfurt headquarters, providing additional space for meeting rooms and co-working areas.

As first alliance partner, Deutsche Telekom officially launches its new global network offering for enterprises based on the ngena platform.

StarHub signs alliance partnership contract with ngena.
